She could feel her eyelids sweating
Checking once more to make sure
Horror seeps before it lingers
Creeping slowly under tables
Hate hates for you to notice
Lick lips hopeless
Don’t wait for love to seek
For a moment, many moments
Pour a brain to save your
Mothering games
Make up on your ideal cure
Eating words to memorize
Peeling somehow, laugh out loud
To reveal a bigger window
Quietly scream, do the right thing
Pour a brain to save your
Mothering games
Make up on your ideal cure

Sonic Youth is one of those bands where you easily run out of superlatives to describe what they created. This could've easily come off as a cynical cash-grab by a band that had broken up 11 years prior to the release of this record, but that's not what this is. Some of my favourite Sonic Youth instrumentals. sentient meat

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
